Lynches River County Park is the outdoor gem of the Pee Dee region. The park sits along Lynches River and features an elevated canopy boardwalk that puts you in the treetops, 30 feet above the forest floor. Walking through the canopy at that height gives you a perspective on the bottomland forest that you simply cannot get from the ground.
Kayaking on Lynches River is a classic Pee Dee blackwater experience. The river is slow, dark, and beautiful, winding through bottomland forest with minimal development on the banks. Put-in access is available at the park, and you can paddle upstream or downstream depending on conditions.
