Green Pond Landing & Lake Hartwell Fishing

N/A (boat-based)
Half day to full day
The premier bass tournament launch on Lake Hartwell. Wide ramp, massive parking, and access to nationally recognized spotted bass fishing. Kayak anglers welcome.

Green Pond Landing is the premier bass tournament launch on Lake Hartwell and one of the best public boat ramps in the state. The facility was built to handle major tournament traffic, which means the ramp is wide, the parking is massive, and the access to the lake is excellent.

For recreational anglers, Green Pond puts you on one of the most productive sections of Hartwell. Spotted bass, largemouth bass, and striped bass are the primary targets. The spotted bass fishing on Hartwell is nationally recognized, with fish regularly exceeding 5 pounds.

Tips from the field

  • Spring spawn (March-May) is the best time for largemouth bass.
  • Spotted bass hold on rocky ledges in 15-30 feet of water year-round.
  • Bring a SC fishing license. Required for all anglers.
  • Kayak anglers: launch early before tournament traffic.
