Poinsett State Park sits at the geologic boundary where the Sandhills meet the Coastal Plain, and that collision of ecosystems creates a landscape unlike anywhere else in South Carolina. Spanish moss and mountain laurel grow side by side. The park has 6 miles of trails ranging from easy nature walks to moderate ridge hikes. The Coquina Trail is the standout, climbing through the unusual terrain with views of the surrounding forest.
