Givhans Ferry State Park sits on the Edisto River near Summerville and is the downstream terminus of the Edisto Canoe Trail. The park’s defining feature is the limestone bluffs that rise 25 feet above the river, an unusual geological formation in the flat Lowcountry landscape. The park is close enough to Charleston and Summerville to serve as an easy day trip or overnight escape from the city.
